Ascendr is a gamified personal development platform that helps you rise to new heights through skill mastery. This guide will help you understand how to use the platform effectively.

Skill Pathways

Skill Pathways are the core of your learning journey. Each pathway:

  • Has a level (beginner → intermediate → advanced → expert → master)
  • Requires XP to level up
  • Can have associated quests to earn XP
  • Features a progress bar showing your path to the next level

How to Level Up Skill Pathways:

  1. Complete quests for that pathway
  2. Earn enough XP to fill the progress bar
  3. When the bar fills up, your pathway automatically levels up
  4. The required XP increases with each level
Create your first pathway

Quest System

Quests are tasks you create to make progress on your pathways:

  • Each quest is tied to a specific pathway
  • Quests have different sizes (micro, small, medium, big)
  • Larger quests give more XP rewards
  • Completing quests earns you XP for both the pathway and your overall level

Quest Sizes:

Micro: 1-5 XP
Small: 6-10 XP
Medium: 11-25 XP
Big: 26+ XP

Achievements & Titles

As you progress, you'll unlock achievements and titles:

  • Achievements are awarded for significant milestones
  • Titles are unlocked at certain user levels
  • You can select your favorite title to display on your profile

Tips & Best Practices

Get the most out of Ascendr with these tips:

  • Create focused pathways - Instead of "Programming", try "JavaScript" or "React"
  • Break down big tasks - Create multiple smaller quests instead of one huge one
  • Use categories - Organize pathways into categories like "Technical", "Creative", etc.
  • Daily check-ins - Maintain your streak by logging in daily
  • Track everything - Even small learning efforts deserve XP rewards
  • Balance your growth - Work on multiple pathways to become well-rounded

Step-by-Step Workflow

1. Create a pathway

Navigate to Skill Pathways and click "Add New Pathway"

  • Provide a name, description, and category
  • The system will automatically assign an icon and color based on the category

2. Add quests to your pathway

Click on a pathway to view its details, then click "Add Quest"

  • Create quests with different XP values based on difficulty
  • Set deadlines if needed
  • Consider adding recurring quests for regular practice

3. Complete quests to earn XP

When you finish a quest in real life, mark it as complete in the app

  • XP is automatically added to both the pathway and your overall profile
  • Watch your progress bars fill up as you complete more quests

4. Level up and unlock achievements

As you gain XP, you'll level up your pathways and profile

  • Pathways progress from beginner → intermediate → advanced → expert → master
  • Your user level increases as you gain total XP across all pathways
  • Unlock new titles and achievements as you reach higher levels
